How hard is it to get a GPA of 3.8 at NYU?

I got accepted to CAS and was worried how hard it is to get a GPA of 3.8, considering the fact that I’ll also be jumping into a $200,000 pool of debt when I graduate. I’m planning to study something in the sciences and might apply to medical school. Is this all worth it?

There was a survey done in the 1990s that rated grade inflation at several schools. I forgot the link but I remember that NYU was ranked above average (meaning it’s a bit easier).

However, you should not be borrowing $200k for undergraduate. People say you will easily make it back but that’s not the case anymore. Undergraduate degrees used to be rare because few people went to college; now, a lot of people attend and it makes the degrees worth less.

To answer your question, it’s easier than most other schools to get a 3.8 but it’s not worth the $200k debt.

(I wanted to attend NYU because of the grade inflation but I got rejected :frowning: )

I think it is insane to willingly take on $200,000 debt for an undergraduate education. I would be shocked if you do not regret this. Do you have other choices?

It’s not hard at all if you are decently intelligent and learn to pick your professors wisely (rate my prof). 200k debt is kinda a killer…i go to nyu and if u r gonna go into that much of a debt i’d srsly not recommend you to go there. Do you have any scholarship?..
