Hi, I’m a high school student in Georgia and I want to go to either Emory, Georgia Tech, or UGA. I consider myself as a pretty smart student, but since I’m asian, I’ll have a disadvantage in getting admitted to colleges. Exactly how smart do I have to be to get accepted to Emory, Georgia Tech, and UGA? (GPA, AP, SAT, etc.)
UGA and GT are public univs. They probably don’t take race into account.
Do they have really high Asian populations?
Do you have Georgia in-state residency for tuition purposes? What does your high school counselor tell you?
You can look up average stats (GPA, test scores, etc.) in each school’s Common Data Set file or on collegedata.com.

etc.
Being Asian isn’t likely to hurt your chances at any of these schools. These are highly rated and very competitive schools. You can do the research online to determine the typical freshman profile.
Here’s a link to Emory’s data:

Note that you can apply to one of two “colleges”, Oxford and the main Atlanta campus. Admissions is a bit easier to Oxford.
The 2016 GT freshman profile:

2016 FRESHMAN ACADEMIC PROFILE (mid-50% ranges)
SAT 1330-1490
ACT 30-34
AP/IB/DE 7-13
GPA: “A” average
UGA’s first year student profile:

Good Luck!
The Zell Miller scholarships have removed financial barriers for talented Georgia students to attend Georgia public universities. GT is not only going to want to see good grades, but high ACT/SAT scores especially in math for College of Engineering and College of Computing students. UGA is slightly less competitive. Race is not considered in admissions. Emory is private and does consider race and admission is about as competitive as GT but 16.5% of the class is Asian. You are fast approaching the EA deadline at GT & UGA (Oct 15) and EDI (Emory) is Nov 1.
"UGA and GT are public univs. They probably don’t take race into account.

THERE ARE LOTS OF ASIANS IN GT AND UGA
For undergraduates, GT has 20% Asians, while UGA only has 9%. Considering that Georgia’s population is only 4% Asian, I don’t see how it has hurt their chances at admissions.
Affirmative action
I am a parent in metro ATL and have done research on this topic. As long as your scores, GPA and class rigor are on par, you can get into Emory and UGA.
GT–no. I think Asian males are the new 'white boys for this school. I have heard story after story of Asian males who don’t get accepted. and academics often don’t make a difference.
