How hard is it to get into St. Andrew's delaware as a sophomore?

I am in ninth grade applying for tenth grade at St. Andrew’s delaware. Does anybody know how hard it is to get in? How many spots there are available? I know it’s probably pretty small but I just want to hear any info people might have, no matter how bleak. THANKS

GMT or somebody else did a statistical analysis to determine the odds of upperclass admission and this put SAS pretty much at the bottom, i.e., it should be much easier to get in at the larger schools. The analysis points out that whole numbers actually reflect a male/female split according to the school’s needs. Geographical considerations are another factor for admission to a smaller school that seeks a stable distribution among the states.

OTOH, you can look at the school’s published statistics (from the Viewbook) and figure out the openings yourself. For 2014-2015, the rising IV Form (tenth grade) added about six girls and seven boys, bringing the total to 81. The usual III Form is about 66-67, with the upper three classes grown to about 77-82, and virtually none added senior year, for a target of 300 (actually ends up plus or minus a few). Assuming low attrition for the coming year, I would think that the new IV Formers would be no more than about three to five, or less than half of what it was the previous year. Thus, there is no absolute number on transfers in that is steady from year to year.

(For 2015-2016, expect III-VI Forms of, 67, 70, 81, 82, respectively, subject to change for attrition and actual yield. For the following year, expect about 16 new transfers divided between IV and V Forms, by my calculations.)

I was told that they hope to add 15 students to the current 9th grade class and that the acceptance rate for 10th grade is similar to that for 9th grade. Last year they had room in 10th grade for more boys than girls.
