How hard is it to transfer?

So I go to Texas Christian University, I’ll have 78 credits by the end of this semester, a cumulative gpa of 3.430 (just at TCU, this is not including my transfer credits), I’m involved in our gymnastics team and our crew club, and I’m only a freshman (but due to my amount of credits, I will be applying as a junior transfer). I graduated in 2010 and I’m hoping that my high amount of credits at a young age will also help me out. I’m also hoping to raise my GPA after this semester with all A’s. Can someone please tell me what the chances of getting into their school for Political Science would be? I’m hoping that the fact that I am attending a school such as TCU will help me. PLEASE let me know. What are the chances of acceptance?

I also applied as a transfer to UC Davis, UCSB, and USC. Can someone help me out? What can I do to increase my chances?

I’m slightly worried about the math grade (it’s my worst subject) as well as that one English grade. How does this look? :/

I recently just went through the transfer process on Long Island. Your grades seem like they would not be a problem normally. I was also looking at transferring to schools in california the problem I ran into was that the state of california was in such bad shape most of them were not sure if they were going to be accepting students from out of state. I talked with about ten colleges that all had the same answer for me. Therefore if they started accepting a limited amount of out of state students your grades may be a concern only because of the competition. I would get as much information as possible from the colleges you’re interested in transferring to. I tried to transfer there last fall and it was impossible. Things might have changed since. Good luck…hope this helped In an unrelated topic this is my first time using this. how did you actually start this thread?

They’re actually going to accept more out of state students this year because they pay more tuition. I read multiple articles confirming this.

^ true dat

I’m pretty sure that priority goes to california community college students, then those at other UCs, then everyone else.

Priority goes to california community college students, then everyone else, then other UCs. Their rationale is, why would you want to do that? (From what I’ve heard) I’ve seen far more people here from other schools than other UCs (because they are fairly similar in structure/bureaucracy). And yes, they are accepting more out of state folks because you guys pay more. California needs all the money it can get.
I have a good feeling you’ll get in.
