How hard is it to...

become a President of a Undergraduate Student Government Association for a 4 year-university (such as UCLA and USC)?

And is it true that you get to eat dinner with the Governor of the State if you get elected?

just act like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?eurl=&v=BIHhyHtFKT4

Well, I went for it at my university and failed. I was VP for a year before that though, and with us, the P and VP candidates run as a ticket, so I have a 50% success rate in P/VP elections.

My advice, if you’re considering it…elections at that level are rough, emotionally. Very, very rough. I cared enough about what I was doing to make it worth it, but there were several evenings spent in my room (or friends’ rooms) crying inconsolably, both years. You’d better care about it enough to make whatever drama comes your way worth it.

Also, run because you care about the issues, not because you care about being President. The undergraduate population of your school deserves that much.

It may vary from place to place, but I’ve never heard of an automatic dinner with the Governor. You do get to meet some powerful people, though.
