Hello…I’m doing a special program with my high school/ Florida International University in Miami. I will be a senior in high school but will have a full college schedule instead of a high school one. All my classes will be @ FIU.

My classes:
General Biology 1
General Biology Lab 1
Precalculus
Spanish for Spanish Speakers
Writing and Rhetoric

In total it is 14 credits; I need at worst a B in each class or they’ll throw me out of the program. I had a 3.8 in high school with a lot of determination and work, but it wasn’t that hard really. I took 4 APs. I am aiming for a 4.0!

How hard is this? Thank you !!

If you know you can’t get lower than a B, I’ve got to ask why take 14 credits? It’s just your senior year of high school, so it kind of makes more sense to take 12, bare minimum since this is your first experience with college classes. If you can handle PreCal and are comfortable with Bio you should be fine though!

14 isn’t hard. You’ll be fine.

High school and college have a lot of differences. I don’t think that looks particularly difficult, but get ready to work.

No offense or anything, but FIU isn’t particularly known for its rigorous academic work. I think you should be fine, especially being that it’s a tier-3 school. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m really not sure about the tier but none taken, the tier doesn’t affect how I feel about the school. I take 14 because I want to get used to a real college schedule plus earn credits for my actual degree. Thank you all!
