I have reached this grade and i don’t know what to do now.My history teacher told me that i should do something with my life.I have no idea what college i should apply.I’m good at math which means that i have good grades and i also know english. At physics i know a bit of each electricity formulas from cc not ac but i have no idea what a resistor is in real life or how a coil looks like. Aside that i know Newton’s law and a few mechanical formulas(not all of them just the formulas of distance, liniar motion, horisontal plane and inclined plane).
I have no idea what I should apply.I really have no idea what am I doing. Is the grade 11th so important now?In this year you will decide what you should do with your own future?
You don’t have to be certain what you want to do in junior year, but if you want to get into college, earning good grades throughout high school (and especially junior year) is necessary. Try to get As and Bs in all your classes and think about where you want to apply, you do not have to know for sure. Your guidance counselor should help you with making these decisions in senior year.
Junior year is also when people usually take their SATs and/or ACTs. Try your best to score well on these tests, as they are also really important for future college applications.
As for your classes, as long as you study, do your homework, and pay attention in class, you should be well-off.
You should definitely find something(s) you are interested in (whether it be music, art, sports, volunteering, etc.) and pursue it. Your history teacher was right, in a way, that you shouldn’t waste away your time watching TV and playing video games, and instead, start thinking about what you want to be, where you want to go, what things interest you, etc.
The difficulty of junior really depends on what classes you are taking. Generally difficulty from easiest to hardest goes like this: College Prep (sometimes it’s called Regents, or has no special name), Honors (sometimes it’s called Pre-AP), and then AP/IB/DE (these fluctuate in difficulty depending on what class you are taking).
Homework should be around 30min-2hr per class per day, depending on course rigor, but don’t forget to study for the SAT and/or ACT that you will probably also take this year.
