How hard is trig?

super easy. easiest part of math in hs. brought my grades up loads. that 7th grade SOH CAH TOA and like 2 other rules and thats all you use, basically

I had a PreCalculus class (it’s the honors math for juniors, others take “trig” alone or algII) that was part Trig, part Algebra III, part Calculus (some of which I had already had when I took AP Physics). I remember the trig being fairly easy, you just have to memorize a lot of formulae/identities/etc. And I disagree with silentsailor. Proofs will not always be easy. They are basically designed to trick you.

I thought Trig was part of Pre-Calculus. Well, in my school it is, and it’s a faster course as well.

Basically, you want to know what tan/cos and sins are and about unit-circle/radians. Everything else can be ruled out by yourself if are able to visualise triangle and remember some properties of functions.

trig sucks. its pointless

Well, you wouldn’t be able to type this message without trig so… eh… hmmm :)

I thought it was easy.

do any of you think trig is absolutely necessary? i took alg 1 and 2 in middle school and am in hon. geometry right now. they only offer trig at my school as alg. 2/trig, so i was thinking of skipping it and going to pre-calc. your thoughts, please.
