How has COVID day care been for you? Any regrets going back?(toddlers, parents)

I’m one of those pple still on the fence whether to send my toddlers back to daycare or not. We don’t NEED to but would be nice to get a break. I know the official statement from medical officials is to go. I’m just curious if there are any parents that regret it? Any issues? I know all daycare have upped their protocols/protections and there are a lot of inconvenience factors that go into play. For example, some I can think off off the top of my head include, but are not limited to… All the masks/distancing - just a different scenario for child to get use to. I assume difficultly adjusting Because of pandemic, child has been out of daycare for ~9months now. Adjusting back to daycare is never easy. Just think of the first time your child went to daycare, it takes multiple months to just adjust to begin with to new place, people, etc etc In order to hang out with family during upcoming holidays, must quarantine, so must pull child out ~2weeks early The additional requirements of daycare (this may depend from place to place) - no more serving lunch, no more snacks, must pack everything by self, must wash everything every day, etc etc Just curious on other people’s experiences…

I am pretty sure my 3 month old grandson contracted covid at his daycare. The daycare announced an outbreak in the 1 yr. old room, next door. GS had a stuffy nose, but a week later his mother developed symptoms, followed by his father a couple of days later. All have now recovered, but I think this is something you have to consider.
