How heavily considered are extra stuff- like emailing admissions?

Hi guys- I emailed NU with a statement just letting them know that my mid-years would be arriving a bit late. Upon second glance, I realize that it’s a bit wordy, and I worry that as a Medill applicant this could look bad. I understand i may be over-worrying but I wanted to know how much stuff like emails are considered, if at all?

if anyone cares, here’s the email

Hello! My name is LOL DEADMAU5 and I am a Marylander applying for admission to Northwestern. I understand that Mid-Year Reports need to be received as soon as possible, and I have already contacted admissions to let them know that the reports are on their way. Unfortunately, as I’m sure you may know, the Baltimore metropolitan area has been hit with two blizzards in one week, effectively shutting school systems down this entire week. I called admissions on Thursday, 2/11 at about 4:00 PM and was notified that the reports could arrive a little later than normal as long as they are sent in as soon as possible. This is just an email to let you all at admissions know that the mid-year reports will be sent as soon as schools can re-open. Right now, I’m anticipating that that will hopefully be on or around 2/16, if there are no more wintry interruptions. Thank you so much for your time and understanding.

ew grammatical error in the title: I meant how heavily considered IS extra stuff. whoops!

Ignoring any gramatical errors (this will not go into your application), it shows good follow though and valid concern for your application. I’ve found follow up emails (and phone calls) like that, wordy or not, can move your app to the top of the pile.
