How high could I expect on the ACT without studying?

Conversions between tests are kinda random. I had a 500 point jump from my PSAT to my ACT.

@loveartforever. So how was the june 8 test? Was it harder than you expected?

I’d just study, it’ll be well worth it in the long run.

if you just do a little extra practice on the science you’ll be fine. first time I did the ACT I didn’t study at all and only got a 29 on science, though a 35 overall on everything else. Then I got two princeton review books (2012 and 1296 questions) and got a 36 on science, but did a little worse on everything else and got a 34. Go figure.

My kid took one practice test (full test), that was it for studying. She got a 35 with a perfect score on the essay. Her SATs were similar to your (ended up with a 2380 superscore, but had to take it twice to get that). With a 2300 on the SAT, you have a good shot at getting the 34 you are looking for without a lot of prep. Hope it went well for you!

Hey, so I got a 34 (with an 8 essay haha)! I’m happy about it but still not sure if it’s worth sending! So if you guys are still following this thread, then I was wondering if I could get some input about that! Basically it is: 730 CR/ 770 M/ 800 W (11 Essay), vs. 35 Eng/ 36 M/ 32 R/ 32 S/ 8 Essay… Should I send both or just the SAT? Thanks! :)

I would really just go with the SAT! It’s all around better, but your 34 is really good as well! Congrats! I wish I had to deal with that decision.
