How important are 1st Semester senior year grades for admissions?

I’ve applied to some reach schools for regular decision but didn’t do so well grade-wise 1st semester (mostly A/Bs to 2 Cs and all Bs). I know I could be rescinded to my accepted schools, but how much does it affect my chances to get into schools that are still evaluating my app?

In all honesty, the grades are mainly used to make sure you did not catch the supposed “senioritis” and are still challenging yourself. However, one semester shouldn’t hurt you too much, as they mainly rely on the general trend of grades from previous years. Unless you get a D or fail a class, you shouldn’t be too worried. Good luck!

You won’t be rescinded for C’s, but it could hurt for reach school admissions, depending on what else you have to offer in your application and how you stack up against the applicant pool.
