<p>My friend has really high grades and SAT scores (3.98UW, 2320 SAT) but very weak EC’s. Does she have a chance for Stern?</p>
<p>I’m also wondering the same thing. Since SAT and GPA are the major factors in NYU’s decision, I think your friend has a chance.</p>
<p>Actually, EC’s count for a lot more than you would think - it is what will set your friend apart from the rest of the very qualified applicants.</p>
<p>They wouldn’t hurt her too much if it’s accompanied with strong writing and recommendations. Typically, you can have one weaker area of your application as long as everything else paints a strong picture of your candidacy. Have a number of weaknesses though, and you won’t do well in any school’s admissions process.</p>
