I'm a junior. I've never had a job- there's no time with 4 APs, loads of HW, practicing/games for the one sport I play and 1 EC I really dedicate myself to. Will this hurt my application for tier1 and tier2 schools? HELP!

summer job

You'll be fine.

My kids did not hold jobs throughout the school year and summer employment was nothing spectacular (sleep away camp counselor each year for one and other son only worked in an office, part time in Jr and Sr year summers.

Sons were accepted at many good schools.

If you need a little push to get over the fence ... that's your grades, rank, and SAT scores are not near perfect ... a part time job that makes you some money and challenging family circumstances can make a difference in the outcome, because it could move the app reader.

Get a summer job.

If you could balance all that AND a part-time job, it definitely shows responsibility and drive. That said, it's really not worth it if it jeopardizes your other activities. A summer job probably won't kill you, and it can teach you an awful lot.
