How important is French for volunteering off-campus?

In order to build a strong resume throughout my undergrad for Med school, volunteering seems very crucial. I heard from other ppl who attended Mcgill previously that for non-french-speaking students It is almost impossible to find off-campus volunteer opportunities. Anyone have any idea? Also, how hard is it to go to Med school at mcgill?

Any input would be hugely appreciated.

Montreal has neighbourhoods that are more or less francophone. TMR and the west island are rather anglophone so you should be able to find opportunities there as an english speaker.

That being said, you’d be foolish to spend 4 years in mtl without learning how to speak french. bouncers/waiters/cab drivers/homeless guys/everyone is nicer to you when you speak french or at least make an effort to do so. even just a few phrases so you can order stuff or give directions in french go a long way.

on another note, if you are looking for a mtl cell phone contract please let me know!

Whats the best cell phone contract ???
