How important is Freshman GPA as a Junior Transfer?

<p>I’m looking to transfer out of my community college into a UC as a junior.</p>

<p>My freshman year I attended a four year university, SMU, where I achieved a 3.0 both semesters.</p>

<p>Currently at my CC I have a GPA of 4.0.</p>

<p>I really want to go to UCSB, UCLA is my reach, and am also applying to Davis and Santa Cruz as an Economics major for each.</p>

<p>My question is, will these schools put more weight into my CC GPA than my freshman one? I see the average GPA for UCLA Biz Econ is 3.9, would my current 4.0 in CC surpass that or would my 3.0 from Freshman year average me down? </p>

<p>Any UC transferable classes you took at SMU will be calculated into your overall GPA, so less than 4.0.</p>
