How important is GPA, resume, headshot, equity card?

When a child auditions for CCM is the decision mostly made by what they see and hear at auditions? Is the childs theatre resume and high school GPA have any weight in the decision?
If a child performs on a Broadway tour or with large equity houses… I wondered if that has any meaning to the deciding CCM people or not.
Thanks

Since no one has answered this yet, I want to take a stab – even though I have no actual knowledge of CCMs criteria or anyone else’s for that matter (but I am awake and enjoy offering my two cents worth.)

That said, my guess would be that AUDITION is absolutely crucial in establishing one’s level of talent and/or talent potential in the eyes of the adjudicators’. Once that is established I would suspect that with all things being equal talent-wise among two candidates, then other things like type, GPA, resume, references, personal statements, etc., might all play roles.

Now I do know that some schools, UMich, being one of them, eliminate certain applicants right from the start if their GPA does not meet certain minimal criteria. However, I do not know if CCM does this.

But from what I have heard – just as a predictor of a restaurant’s success is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION – at a minimum, criteria for being a successful applicant is TALENT, TALENT, TALENT. LOL! Hmmm, one more thought comes to mind. Whitney Houston. What a great resume. But I sure would not place any bets based on her present talent (is that rude of me to say?) My point being that schools are making an investment in the kids they select to attend their schools and train for 4 years and therefore selecting an investment is probably weighed heavily on the TALENT seen at the time – at the audition.

I hope someone with absolute knowledge weighs in on this.

We have been told that it is all about the Audition. As it is in the real world.
All the other things are valuable as they help to support your audition performance. CCM will tell you that they have kids who have great resumes, broadway credits and still not accepted into the program. Bottom line (in my opinion) nail the audition: build your resume and maintain a great GPA and that may help to tip the scale in your favor when they are faced with so many very talented kids to select from.

The audition is the absolute most important part of getting accepted to CCM. Talent is talent. You can’t hide that.
Resumes can be misleading… Some very talented performers have done very few work and some not so talented performers have done a lot. Resumes are only there to give them a nice contact point if they know anyone on it…

But nowadays a background check is much easier done via facebook and youtube…
