How important is it to take hard senior class

I am applying to engineering schools,
I am taking all AP or Honors for math and science
I hate social studies, so I am thinking about between AP gov, or regular.
If I have to take government in UT , I would take AP Hov, but if not, I don’t wan to.
If i am an engineering school applicant, do they even care if I take bard social studies?

Schools want to see all around that you took a rigorous courseload and that you carried social studies out to 4 years. I recommend you AP Government.
