How important is memorizing names for AP Psych?

How important is memorizing names such as BF Skinner, Vygotsky, etc. important for self-studying the AP Psychology test?

Also, is there a general consensus on the accuracy and effectiveness of 5 step to 5 books?

…Anyone? :(

My teacher is strongly urging us to memorize these names.
If they are important to a theory/method such as Pavlov you should know it

Great I can never remember these names. In the Barrons’ review book, there is a section in the back that tells you all the names to memorize. Will this be sufficient?

The college board releases a description of each chapter tested on the exam (history, statistics, developmental psych, etc.) and listed in the descriptions are all of the psychologists they can test you on. Based on the 2012 thread where a lot of people posted names they were not familiar with but showed up, these descriptions would be useful because the names show up there. I’m guessing the Barrons book does not include them all, but you do not need to know them all to do well on the exam.

can you send me a link of these descriptions? The AP website is a mess IMO

Are you talking about the course descriptions?

yes, can you please send a link of these name descriptions! It would really help all of us study!
