Hey, I was just wondering how important honors like National Merits are. I missed the cutoff by just a few points but I received a 31 on the ACTs. I have a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and I’m taking the most rigorous classes that my school offers. My transcript is also loaded with extracurricular activities. How good of a chance do I have if I don’t have honors like National Merit, Presidential scholor, etc?

NM is good but if you dont have it dont worry do well on your SATs to proove your worth. your ACT is kind of low for penn tho.

it’s not about what you don’t have; it’s about what you have. don’t worry about it. everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. why do you think all the top schools turn down so many perfect scorers? what fun would it be if all of the freshman class at penn had perfect SAT scores and were all national merit scholars?
your ACT is the penn average. (i’m assuming it’s low for CC though, not for penn)
