How important is relevant coursework to a resume and how relevant should you include

Basically what the title says. I’m updating my current resume and debating if i should include a section on relevant coursework or expand upon my previous job responsibilities/accomplishments.

Also if I do include it; do I just list all my business classes, all my accounting classes, or just the accounting classes focused around the job I’m pursuing??

I would list what is most relevant for the particular job to which you are applying. I wouldn’t list all of your business classes. You could include any relevant skills learned in your courses, such as particular techniques, computer programs, theory application, etc. (I am not in the accounting field so I’m not sure what those relevant skills might be). However, if your previous job responsibilities and accomplishments are relevant to the job you’re applying to, then do not bump that information in exchange for coursework. Real world experience and accomplishments will be more important, if you are limited in space and need to choose between the two options.

I would most definitely include the achievements or skills you have learned. Companies don’t care about what classes you have taken unless they were extremely specific. Trust me, I’ve had 6 internships and I have never been asked about a class.
