How important is the school?

I’m interested in posibly double majoring in engineering physics and computational modeling at university of the pacific. It’s not on any lists for top engineering programs. Does the school really matter that much when you apply to grad school?

Yes, it certainly does.

For what you are paying at UoP you can get a much better engineering education elsewhere. Not only where you go be a concern for grad school, but it might hinder you getting a job as well. I am noticing more and more that where you do your degree matters when looking for a job in engineering vs. a job with an engineering degree.

Don’t get me wrong, I have friends who have graduated from UoP, but they aren’t engineers. There are a lot of good engineering schools within a days drive of Stockton that can offer you a better education.
