How Important Is Word Limit?

<p>Hi guys,</p>

<p>Does anyone know exactly how important adhering to the word limit is? I’ve got this 846-word essay that I’d really like to submit but I’m not sure how the admission officers would view it… any ideas? Slashing 300+ words is really to gonna kill it…</p>

<p>By the way, I used this essay last year with Cornell and got accepted. Is the a precedent by any chance?</p>

<p>Then why are you applying to Brown, if you got in Cornell last year?</p>

<p>I’m serving in the Army for 2 1/2 years (ending June 2005!) so I couldn’t secure my place in Cornell last year… plus i’m applying with fin aid this year…</p>
