<p>GT says that EC’s are a big deal, but these days EVERYONE talks about EC’s incessantly. I’m pretty sure that ITT Tech has said that applicants should have demonstrated leadership in high school at this point.</p>
<p>Anyway, how important are EC’s for GT? Is it mostly a numbers game (like the 50% admissions rate implies), or are numerous EC’s a serious factor? Do current/admitted students know?</p>
<p>I am not an admitted student, but as of now, most colleges care about quality more than about quantity. It is better to have 2-3 activities where you are extremely successful, hold leadership positions, that you love, and that are related to your planned field of study, than just having a bucket list of clubs where you do nothing. You don’t have to be an oracle to see when a person truly does what he wants to do and does it well, or just creates a bucket list for college applications</p>
