How impressive is TA'ing for admissions?

I am a 2 year TA for Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology. (I finished BC in 10th grade, TA for 11th & 12th. I did Chem in 10th, TA 11th. Bio 11th, TA 12th). Currently I would say that I have the most experience working in the science department compared to anyone else at my school. Though I definitely have recommendations that support this, I’m curious whether this is impressive/competitive in apps.

What is curious is that you even wonder about this achievement. Congrats on your abilities. Good luck w/apps

TA-ing is great - it shows the teachers’ respect for your abilities and I assume you are good at teaching and enjoy it. And I’m sure they’ll give you strong recs as a result.

Just think about whether your essays can be used to highlight some other, completely different, aspect of your personality. Students who are all about academics sometimes need to be reminded that it helps to show other facets of who they are (assuming there are other facets). It doesn’t have to be something ‘grand,’ just something that shows you can have a conversation about stuff that’s not school-related.
