Next year, as a junior, I am theoretically taking the following APs:

AP English Language
AP Calculus BC
AP American History
AP Physics (B at school, perhaps C at our school system’s career center)

and additionally:

AP American Government (independently)
AP Comparative Government (independently)

I am relatively good at math if I study. But I keep getting all these weirded-out looks when I tell people I’m taking BC instead of AB. At our school, kids usually take AB junior year and BC senior year. I think this is somewhat of a waste, because from my understanding AB is one semester of college calc in one year, and BC is two semesters of college calc in one year, and I’m pretty sure a sixteen-year-old junior in an honors program can measure up to an eighteen-year-old college freshman, who is a mere two years older.

I’m not worried about AP Lang, AP Gov, and AP Comp, but I know they will most likely take up a lot of time with all the reading. I think Physics B will be fine, but I’m not sure about C, since it is calculus-based, and I will only be learning calculus.

APUSH is making me pull my hair out, thanks to all the horror stories I’ve heard. I’m not sure about this one.

Ha, suggest you take a Cal BC, dont afraid to be weird, you know what, actually, all of my friends take BC instead of AB, so if you are sure you can handle it and since taking BC is more economic, thern just take it.

As for physic B or C, it depends on your interest.

Going right into BC Calculus isn’t impossible. In fact, this year my school created an “ABC” (or whatever it’s called) math class for Juniors to learn all the AP Calculus material in one year and take the BC exam. So, it’s definitely manageable.

If you’re going right into a BC class (that assumes you already know the AB calculus material) I would probably self-study during the summer or at least some time before the class starts so you’ll be able to follow along (since BC calculus is mostly AB anyway).

I’m not so sure about taking Physics C, though, because even though I haven’t taken it, I would guess that taking a class that assumes you already know calculus would be rather tough to get through if you don’t know calculus yet. It seems like a big jump, but I don’t know enough about the physics test to say much on it :/

Oh, and don’t worry about APUSH. It’s a lot of reading, sure (the American Pageant is loooong), but it’s not really “hard.” You just have to know a lot of material and be prepared to write a DBQ (easier said than done, of course). When I took it and went through practice problems, much of consisted of “you know it or you don’t” sort of questions. So, be sure you study enough, create a “story” in your mind to remember the events in history, etc.

wow, next year I’m taking the same classes next year, except that I will be taking AP Calculus AB, but it’ll be easy, and i will be self-studying only AP Euro History. The hard part managing the four AP classes is that my school goes on a block schedule.

And how are you not worry about AP English Language? Are you an excellent writer and have great analytical skills? AP English is what I’m worried about.

AP Physics B, I believe, is one of the hardest AP science course. The exam itself is more difficult than the Physics C exams, which I heard. Besides, critical thinking and logic are required skills in this course.

APUSH, like absent said, is a lot of reading since i saw the American pageant textbook myself (42 chapters and about 1000 pages). But I read book reviews that reading the book is like reading a novel. From the APUSH students in my school this year, only few students receive A’s in the class because of the 100 MC questions on the test.

I think that’s very challenging. I’m taking AP Lit, AP Calc BC, AP Bio and AP Comp Gov.

I think that’s it. Top worries would be… well no top worries. Perhaps AP Lit is a worry. But I like reading, and I should definitely get the practice. So yes.

I would also be self-studying APES with AP Bio. Maybe AP US Gov because I already took APUSH. But the thing is, am I really interested in US Gov? And I heard it was hard to get a 5 on anyways (apparently only 6% got 5s?), so I don’t think I’ll take it.

@longkouxi113ss: I’ve decided to “be weird” and go with BC. And I’m settling with only taking Physics B. After reading the description on the College Board site, it makes more sense since I plan to be a premed in college.

@absent: Self-studying AB over the summer is a good idea, thanks. And I’ll go with APUSH after what you said…wish me luck. :]

@jerrry4445: Wow, self-studying an entire AP History – that’s pretty ambitious! As for AP Lang, writing is my strong point, so I think I’ll be okay. Hope you do well next year too!
