How is a typical yale student like?

How is a typical Yale student like? Just wondering… I know Yale has a very diverse student population but is there anything common among yale students?

Hmm… generally speaking, Yale students & alumni seem to me to be outgoing, social, friendly, articulate, intellectual/quirky (i.e., with unusually-well developed interests in particular fields), intelligent, creative, charismatic, generous, well-read, open-minded.

Significant fractions are also quite artistic, liberal/activist, nerdy, athletic, studious, musical (you will hear students playing instruments all over the campus anytime you step outside), theatrical, witty.

The admissions office seriously looks to attract & admit students who show unusually strong evidence of leadership ability, not just academic excellence. Students with absolutely spotless academic track records often get rejected, while those who have extraordinarily well-developed talents, intellectual drive or leadership backgrounds in particular areas are often admitted (although they usually have great academic “stats”, too).

Rory Gilmore. Duh.

We’re all friggin crazy. But the FUN kind of crazy!

Like ME.

10 char

lol bazcat. I freaking love Gilmore girls.

Yale is well-known for its diversity. The concept of “a typical Yale student” doesn’t actually exist. I venture to say that the only adjective which you can use to generalise them is… well… “smart” lol
