How is counter-senioritis viewed?

Say someone underestimated senior year course load, and their mark in 1 subject dipped about 10% first term; second term they brought the mark (cumulative) to their junior year level. How is this situation viewed by colleges? Is this enough to kill a borderline applicant?

colleges aren’t going to have your second term “marks” until they’ve already made their decision so…

this is a good thing!!
