How is economics major at Rice?

<p>So, my D was admitted to Rice, and she declared interest in economics, I have several questions related to this, input from anyone familiar with it especially current or recent students is greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>*Rice is better known for hard science, how is the overall landscape with economics major? when I looked up the ranking, it is low and a little disappointing.</p>

<p>*For economics undergraduate, where do most go after graduate (what kind of professions, graduate schools etc.? </p>

<p>*Some info also shows that economics is the most popular major in Rice, is it true? and why?</p>
