How is everyones application process going?

I know it’s a crazy time right now, I myself am preparing for 6 different guitar auditions. It’s an arduous process but one that I can hopefully look back on and know I did well. I’m finally at the tail end of actually applying, I had serious technical problems with Berklee but they did a lot to help me and I got it in. Only have one application left! I’ve taken the initiative early and have called all of the schools multiple times to get concise and accurate info on questions I had and also to make sure things arrived their on time etc. It’s really good to do that, shows you’re eager and professional. You don’t want to wait until thanksgiving to realize you forgot something! I’m so happy to have an amazing guitar teacher who has been giving me two hour lessons on saturdays and sundays for free to help me be as prepared as can be!! I have my first audition next week, a pre-screening at Cornish, if I do well enough I could be accepted just based on that which would be great. Then I have to do a DVD for Jacobs…and then the monlith…Berklee, Dec. 14th in Seattle. Preparing really hard for that one, I’m glad it won’t be the first audition like it was supposed to be, I have chances to get past that feeling anxiety and just kick butt. Anyways how is everyone else faring?

Good luck at Berklee on Dec. 14th! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a great audition.

Academically accepted in Indiana U and Capital, sent off DVD to Jacobs and making one for capital. a couple weeks ago I visited Cornish and did a live pre-screening audition…they loved me so much I got accepted!! I was notified today, well before I thought I would know. I thought I would’ve had to audition again but this is truly awesome…so happy. aside from the normal letter they sent they wrote a handwritten letter saying how impressed they were and that they were looking forward to going over my application and all that jazz. This just gives me the validation that I need…I was kind of feeling down for some reason, Berklee is just about a week away and I’ve been pretty nervous but this is a real confidence boost. woohoo!

WOW! Congrats 18karat, good luck with your upcoming Berklee audition too!

Good luck 18K!

18karat,

violadad and I maintain lists of acceptances and final decisions on this forum (see http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1045522-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2011-a.html</a> for this year’s acceptance list) and you have the honor of being the first on that list. After looking at the Cornish College web site, I would guess that you are interested in their BM in Instrumental Performance degree with concentration in guitar. Please let me know if this is correct, and keep us posted with any more acceptances and your decision of where you will attend. Congratulations on the early acceptance, it really takes a load off the mind in later auditions.

Yes that is correct! Also my focus would be jazz music. Thank you very much and I definitely will keep everyone posted. I am very confident in the rest of my auditions…Berklee next tuesday! trepidatious but very excited
