How is Japanese Vocabulary Sparkchart

I’m preparing for SAT Japanese for November at the moment.
Due to lack of resources, I only have Barrons(published in 1995) to study.
Now I want to memorize some vocabulary, and the only list I have is the Appendix…
Fortunately, I found Japanese Vocabulary Sparkchart online,
but since I live in Korea(and there is no sparknchart in Korea), I can not guarantee the arriving date.
Do you think Sparkchart is worth buying it?

Plus, With Sparkchart, I found a word list in pdf on google.
<a href=“Home | NSW Education Standards”>http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/pdf_doc/japanesec_vocab.pdf</a>
What do you think about this list as SAT preparation?

Thanks :)

Not necessary.

I’ll take Japanese this Nov.
And since I’m Chinese, I think it’s easier for me to learn Japanese.

SAT Japanese seems not very tough subject.
Have you ever taken the online test in collegeboard?
If so, you must find it is quite easy.
I mean, the difficulty is similar to JLPT N4.(N3 is most, I don’t think this test will be over N3)

You have to sharp your grammar skill since this is a very important part of Japanese test and the easiest part to prepare.
I recommend you to read tae Kim’s Japanese grammar guide, which I found in CC.
But remember that this guide contains slang part and I don’t think it is necessary to read them if you just want to get a good score in SAT.

Then, about vocabulary.
You can just use the web you post.
I have no idea whether in States or Korea there are books about Japanese tests.
In China, there are a lot of test books for Japanese and I’m sure that Chinese students love buying vocabulary books.
For me, I plan to study the vocabulary in my textbooks and accumulate in reading.

Maybe it’s the easiest language test.
So you don’t have to memorize a lot of vocabulary.
What you have to do is memorize the basic vocabulary and sharp your grammar skill.

Good luck!

First of all, thanks for the answer! I heard that Japanese isn’t such a popular subject for SAT so I was having a hard time finding on it.

Another question.
Actually I already took N3 years ago, so I have a list of JLPT N3 vocabularies.
Do you think N3 Vocab list would be better than the pdf I uploaded?

It’s good for you to prepareN3.
But I think you’d better start with the basic words. N5 and then N4. If you have time, you can continue with N3.
I don’t know how you memorize Japanese vocabulary.
In China, there are main two ways to do it.
1 follow the sequence of かな
2 start with noun, then verb, then adj. adv…the last is borrowed words( sorry I have no idea how to translate it into English)
I prefer the second one,obviously.

I think that you have to memorize the basic nouns, verbs, adj, and adv, both in kanji and hiragana.
Since I’m Chinese, it’s easier for me when it comes kanji and I can guess the meaning even though I haven’t learned it.
But when it comes hiragana, I have some trouble.
I get confused that this word is noun or adj or something else.
And remember you must know the rules of conjugation. It’s very very very important.

The best way to strengthen your vocabulary is read, read, and read.
