How is L&S R44?

Currently, I am taking Chem 1A and Math 1A. I was thinking about taking L&S R44 to take care of my R&CB requirement as well as a breadth requirement.

I am also going to audition for the Wind Ensemble, and if I get in, that takes care of another 2 units, bringing me to 15 units total.

My main concern is L&S R44. People have said it’s a really difficult course. But, since I’ll be taking only two other academic classes, will L&S R44 be worth it?

By the way, my major is undecided, but am leaning towards either MCB or trying to transfer into CoC (even though I’m not taking Chem 4A).

My phase II appointment is in two hours, so any input would be appreciated.

If you are indeed transferring into CoC, you should take Chem 4A no matter what. If you don’t, either you will be rejected from CoC, or be asked to take it the first thing in your 2nd year. Yeesh, I know. Which instrument are you auditioning for Wind Ensemble?

^I’m auditioning on oboe. Are you in the wind ensemble?

Also, I thought I read somewhere on here that someone went straight from Chem 1A to Chem 4B, and subsequently into CoC (I think his name was AppleJuice). Maybe I misunderstood that person, though.

Anyway, any input on L&S R44?

Also, on telebears, do we only add Wind Ensemble as a class after we make it in (in the first week) or do we add it now and drop it if we don’t make it in?

L&S R44 is five units for a reason. You have to analyze works from both literary and historical aspects, instead of just one of them like in most classes. There’s also a lot of reading.

I did the latter which is signing up first. There’s no way you can get rejected if you’re an oboe player anyway.

I took L&S R44. It was more work compared to the other R&C classes, but I didn’t mind so much since the subject matter was intriguing. I would recommend the class, although it’s with a different professor this semester, so it could be different.

I’m also taking L&S r44 and now that I’m looking it uses 9 different books which is scaring me a bit. I’m also taking Philosophy 12a (4 units) and GSW 50ac (3 units) and then meditation or a seminar or some other 1 unit class, that shouldnt be too hard of a coarse load right?
