I have many colleges in my list, but University of Michigan Ann Arbor is my dream school. I know that I need to improve my ACT stat (or take an SAT), but any ideas on what else should I do? Thanks!

Hey, you have very good stats and ECs. I am also hoping to attend UofM but am held down due to my ACT score. Also, can you give me your feedback on my resume?

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.):LSA
[ *] SAT (one sitting):NA
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent):NA
[ *] ACT:25 ( retaking in September, hopefully it will be a 28+. Also any advice?)
[ *] weighted GPA:3.83
[ *] Course load (# of AP/IB/H, special courses, etc.): Total of 7 AP classes over high school career: AP HUG(4), APES(5), Senior year course load: AP Lit, AP Calc, AP Gov, AP BIO, and AP World History. Took honors chemistry and honors algebra and geometry
[ *] Rank: top 20% I believe.

[ *] Other stats:

[ *] major strength/weakness: First Gen, HUGE upward trend, good stories for my essays.
[ *] Other Factors/questions: What can i do to improve my resume. I know my ACT score is on the low end but excluding that, how good of a chance do I have? Also can i list awards I didn’t get in high school?

Your EC’s are kind of weak, not too be offensive. If you have more EC’s, please divulge them.

Your GPA is good, but not taking AP classes suggests that 1) you were not capable of handling AP classes 2) you did not want the extra workload.

Colleges always want you to challenge yourself.

And you should probably take the SAT too, just to see if you do better. A 26 ACT corresponds to an 1800 SAT.

Take all of this with a grain of salt though, I am only 16 and a rising senior, so I can’t pretend to know everything.

By the way, could you chance me back? I would really appreciate it
