How is my SAT score?

Hey everyone! I am really looking to get into a good college for premed. What would be my chances to get into NYU, Binghamton, Fordham, Penn state, Georgetown, and BC based upon my SAT scores?

Here are my SAT scores which I am hoping to improve. Be aware that this was my first time taking the test:

CR: 600
Math: 690
Writing: 570

Also, how hard is it to improve my scores up to 2000 or above?

U need 140 points to increase to 2000. If u study hard, u should be fine to get ur points. That’s if u study

Haha thanks! I don’t understand why my scores where this low, i’ve been studying a lot.

You can do it!:)

Thanks  I hope so!

Are you a junior next year? If so work hard on your gpa and sat scores next year. If you can get a 3.7+ gpa or a 3.6+wgpa and a 1450+ math and cr sat score, consider one of the bs md guaranteed medical programs. As of now, your scores should improve for regular entry into those colleges, but you have time to work on it!

What ethnicity are you?
Your score can make you if you’re a URM, and break you if you’re an ORM.

thats an interesting question.

If ur an URM i think 1800+ is good probably

Hey nikhilbg, unfortunately i have just completed my junior year. My unweighted average was a 95, which I’m not sure how to calculate onto the 4 point scale. I’ve held a 92 average in both my freshman and sophmore year. Also, i go to a private school which offered me no AP courses until my senior year. However, I was in all honors from grades 9-11. I’ll also be taking AP English, AP Bio, and College Spanish next year.

My EC’s aren’t too great, however. I’ve been in FBLA in both grade 9 and 10, plan on doing Track in grade 12, have been an altar server since grade 8, participated in the breast cancer walk in both grade 9 and 10, hold a position in the Art National Honor Society, and plan on doing Key Club my senior year.

Will these be enough?

Well I’ve lived in the US my entire life, however I am 100% Indian and both my parents were born in India. Will this help?

What is URM exactly? I am Indian, but would i have to be born there to be considered part of that?

^ Since you fall under one the over-represented minority group, it would probably be best if you raise your scores a bit higher. I wouldn’t focus intensely on another cram course or anything, but at te bare minimum try to get a superscore of 2300.

How hard would that be to attain? And besides the BB, would you recommend anything else? Also, I plan on volunteering at the hospital, but should I be doing anything else in terms of ECs?

bump bump bump
