How is Stony Brook

I’m a Senior in High School and am looking into Suny Stony Brook.
Can you guys comment on how it is there?
Is it a party school? Suitcase/commuter school?
Snobs, preps, guidos?
Please tell me how it is there and what the typical SUNY stony Brook experice is like.
I haven’t been there yet, so I want to know if its even worth it to go to check it out.
Is there anything to do there in the area or is it in the middle of no where and borring/dead?
thanks!

Definitely check it out! I just finished my 3rd(?) week of classes and I am having a blast. The student body is huge so there are all different types of people and by all I mean ALL haha. It doesn’t seem overly party schoolish yet. There are a lot though. There is a noticeable difference on Friday when a lot of the people leave for home though. Still, due to the large student body, there are still a bunch of people on campus. Overall, I am loving it here so far. The weather has been nice, the people are amazing, and there is plenty to do. I really highly recommend it!
