Is life in college more laid back? How’s life at a UC school like Berkeley or UCLA? I know it probably depends in your major, but since I want to major in engineering, would my life be extremely difficult from the get go?

People generally say that Science and Engineering majors have to do the most studying. Humanities and Arts majors have the easiest time. However, even though you have to do significantly more studying than the average humanities student, you will have time to do other things if you budget your time well. Or so i hear, because im at the get go too.

All my friends studying engineering are pretty busy… pretty stressed… when you chat with them, they always seem to have something going on that disengages the conversation quite drastically.

How about business or social sciences majors?

ah engineering…goodtimes

You can pretty much decide. You can take a light or heavy courseload. You can balance how much you care about grades against how much free time you want. You can decide what you want to do during however much free time you have.

Of course, your options are somewhat constrained by simply how much your major requires for graduation, but there’s a lot of freedom within that.
