How is the weather there?

How’s the weather at Notre Dame during march? I’m from SoCal and I’m heading up there in a few weeks for the Spring Visitation event, and I’m not quite sure what to pack.

Thanks!

pants, sweaters, jackets… it’s cold and windy. if you’re from socal it’ll feel even colder, but who knows…

It’s hard to say. “Springtime” in South Bend can be rather mercurial. I’d take some pants, sweaters, and jackets as mentioned, but pack a tshirt or two just in case you’re lucky enough to nab a nicer day.

Mhrm, I would say springtime would be similar to San Fran weather.

Spring in South Bend is tricky. We had 60 degree weather a few weeks ago, but it could also be snowing or cold and rainy. Bring clothes you can layer.

I think springtime being similar to San Fran would be very optimistic.

san fran was cold rainy and deceivingly windy last time i was there lol

Well, from someone that is actually here, it has been unusually warm for march. During the day, it has gotten up to 70 degrees but during the nighttime hours, the temperature usually drops to a normal less than freezing. We’ve also experienced some rain in the last two weeks.

Whens its sunny here, it is really beautiful but when it starts raining/snowing/blowing wind at subfreezing temperatures, it really sucks
