How is this going to play out for me?

My math grades haven’t been too amazing. For the past 4 semesters, I’ve received B+, B, B, B+(arg, 89.8).

I’m taking Statistics and never took Calculus.

I got a 710 on Math II, which isn’t good, but I submitted it a feeble attempt to show I’m not a total failure in math. Was this a good move or does it just make things worse?

…710 isnt good?

Well usually it’s not bad, but for Math II it isn’t. I it’s the 68th percentile :(

It shows that you are decent in math despite not taking Calculus. Remember that the 68% is of those who TAKE that test, which is already selective. I think that you made the right choice in sending it. If the colleges you applied to use an “academic index”, they will use the straight number of 710, not the percentile.

Where are you applying?

I’m applying to some top 15-40 universities and some good liberal arts colleges.

Okay, thanks for the reassurance, levirm.

You have to remember that only students who are applying to the top colleges in the country take SAT IIs, and those students take only the SATIIs in the subjects they’re best in. Consequently, your score is fine.
