HOW is this possible?

I have a 3.6 GPA in high school and a 22 on the ACT. I was wait listed at Drexel and rejected from the wait list in late may, i dont get it. They admit 74% of their applicants, albeit their average ACT’s are 23-27, but I was abe to get into St. Joseph’s University and they have a 62% admittance rating and the same (maybe a little higher) SAT and ACT scores. I also got some scholarship when i was accepted not to mention the fact that SJU has 3 times less seats than Drexel does for Freshman class. Drexel was the school I really wanted to go to and now I think im gonna transfer in december mid year from the school im gonna go to now, Arcadia University, and i looked up that I can do that with less than 24 college credits.

I need someone to shed their light on this story, cause its left me a little baffled and distraught. How could it have happend?

You can ask the admissions office.

bump please someone help!

The fact of the matter is, no one can help you except the admissions office.

You might also get some feedback from your high school guidance counselor. There are a lot of factors that come into play in college admissions. In addition to gpa and test scores, your essays, recommendation letters, EC’s, etc. all factor into the decision. Probably some other intangibles as well.

Good luck wherever you do end up. It may turn out to be the best place for you anyway.

College Admissions is random.

It could have been that the admission officers at SJU really liked your essays, but the officers at Drexel did not…all a matter of opinion. Know one really knows…except the admission officers of course.
