How is university life different from college?

I’m transferring next fall, so before that I want to know the differences to prepare in advance. How much time do classes consume, or how much time would I have for other activities (I’m majoring in Chem Engineering)? Is the style of studying different? Anything that people who transferred regret not doing while in college?

Depends on you, depends on your school, and depends on your major.

Generally speaking, yeah, you’re going to have to put in more effort. If you can, take a light-ish load your first semester. I used to be able to handle 20 units in a semester before I transferred, now I aim for 13-15. Again, it depends on a whole lot of factors, but figure out what you can handle before you take on too much. Keep in mind that there’ll be other new things going on to adjust to, like a new living situation, possibly new roommates, clubs and activities, etc.

do you mean transferring from junior college or community college to a 4 year university? Your questions don’t really make sense if we’re talking about transferring from Williams (college) to Yale (university) for example.
