I don’t know what you are talking about, the old buildings at UT are gorgeous. The engineering buildings are pretty atrocious and some of the science buildings are meh, but everything else is pretty nice. Also no offense to UW Madison and UMich, both are great schools but UT is better overall because it’s in Austin and it’s in Texas – the fastest growing city and state in the country. Wisconsin and Michigan are pretty insignificant economically compared to the economic prowess of Texas – there are more people in the city of Houston than in the whole state of Wisconsin…

Hey man, chill! Maybe your right, I didn’t see much of its campus, there isn’t much to see of it on the Internet, this is the reason I came to cc, to ask for you who have already been there to say to me how it is like. Btw, I don’t see why the number of people in uw Madison would be a problem since it’s also a huge University :/

Everyone has their own opinions. Some people find the buildings of UT outdated and what not. Honestly, both Umich and Wisconsin are better. The amount of research done at the university is superior to UT’s. UT does have some stronger programs, but Wisconsin and UMich are better in the sciences. Overall rankings of universities based on ARWU and USNWR put Wisconsin and UMich in front of UT. Another thing to think about it that UT is composed of 90% TEXAS students.

:p
And what about sport? I heard ablot about all these three universities but I got confused about it… Even though sport is the greatest reason to choose a school, of course it helps

Madtown, come back and post here next March. The UW campus can be pretty brutal during the winter. You may think you don’t care about winter, but…

My husband went to UW for undergrad and UT for grad school. He liked both schools a lot. He much preferred Austin and the weather over UW, though.

Sports is awesome in both schools. In football UT does better and they did win a national championship with Vince Young not too long ago. Basketball is better in Wisconsin you can say as of now. However, Madison Wisconsin is considered to be the better college sports town due to SI

Michigan may be better academically but UT is definitely better than Wisconsin overall. Almost all grad programs at UT are superior to Wisconsin’s. To me though academics aren’t everything and I definitely would prefer to be in Austin over Ann arbor and where ever UW is at. Austin is the place to be right now, there’s a reason why hundreds of thousands are flocking here.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Austin, but is it THAT great? What does it has to be so loved? Lol

Better then Wisconsin? How? Probably just in some Business fields. The OP is interested in one of the sciences.

The overall academics are better at Wisconsin according to MANY rankings. As for overall, there are many factors. Both schools are huge party schools with UW getting the edge often, some prefer Madison while others prefer Austin, both schools are located in state capitals, etc. The OP’s was indirectly asking which campus looks better: UT or UW.

Do you prefer http://www.drawingontheland.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Madison.jpg or <a href=“Public Health”>http://www.biosci.utexas.edu/publichealth/images/utImages/aerial.jpg

All in all, both schools are very similar. It comes down to where he feels the better vibe

Yeah man, I really loved the Madison vibe, lakes, all that stuff, and compared to Brazil any of these two are absolutely awesome!

I’ve heard the people aren’t very friendly there

People aren’t friendly in Texas? You’ve got to be kidding. One of the friendliest states and the campus reflects that too. Maybe the unfriendlies were not Texans.

People are mean in Texas? It must have been a rude, selfish, person with no social grace who said that. ;-)

lanadelrey123 is from Texas. He meant something else.

Besides this friendly or not thing, what about Wisconsin business school? I think i saw it in twenty fifth (us news rankings). Is there MUCH difference between ranking places? Sorry for my grammar, I’m kinda busy now to write it all correct

Ask someone from Texas & we’ll say there is difference…however Wisconsin in the USHWR ranking at #25 obviously means they are very good & solid school. You can’t go wrong at either one. Where do you plan on finding work after you graduate? If in Texas then UT would be the far better choice.

Internationals have to get H-1 visa to work in USA. It’s not easy

Yeah, I have not thought yet where I’m going after graduating :p
