<p>I know this topic isn’t related to transferring at all, but I don’t want to wait 5 days before I get my first response if I only posted this in the Career Board. Also, lots of people in this board seems to be from California Area (evident from the fact that more than half the people who post here are from a CCC transferring to a university in California), and I’m sure many of you know of someone who have gone to a business related field in an Entertainment Industry. So I figured this board would actually bring more response and help that I needed.</p>
<p>ok. if I were to apply for an internship position at a Corporate Finance division in an Entertainment Industry (Disney, Warner Brothers Studio, Hollywood Studio, News Network, etc), what kind of level of competition should I expect if I were to go for Los Angeles Headquarter? Is it more/less competitive than the local (L.A.) Ibanking internship?</p>
<p>Also, how is the life/pay like if I were a formal employee of such industry? Does it follow the traditional work path of 40 hours/week and paid vacation, etc?</p>
<p>At first I thought IBanking would be my dream job, but I came to change my mind after thinking through it more carefully. Sure, Ibanking will pretty much make you a millionaire within 10 years of work experience. But that’s pretty much the only good thing about being an IBanker - Money. I though it had much more downside than its benefit. It is a job of no leisure/family time, and I heard many families of Ibankers break up with countless cases of divorce. It’s pretty much exchanging your family/leisure life with money. I really don’t want that kind of life, so I decided to change my future plan to something more suitable to my lifestyle. And I thought of working at an entertainment industry because I live in Southern California area and I would like to take advantage of its location and repuatation of being the Entertainment Capital of the World.</p>
