This is a public schoool in stl, MO.

Honors Classes

H- 5.0
A- 4.5
B- 3.5
C- 2.5
D- 1.5
F- 0.0

Regular Classes
A-4.0
B-3.0
C-2.0
D-1.0
F-0.0

H Just means you have a 97% or higher in that honors class

The Valedictorian averaged a 4.7
Top 10 percent mark is around a 4.0-4.1

Also, Career GPA is averaged by your GPA each semester divided by 8 (total semesters).

my school’s in california.
for each AP class we get a .025 boost to our unweighted GPA.

90%+: 4.0
80-89%: 3.0
70-79: 2.0
60-69: 1.0
59>: 0

The average of that is your GPA. You get one point added for taking an honors or AP course (for A’s to C’s, you, for example, don’t get a 2.0 for getting a D in AP Chem). You also get some extra points for dual enrollment classes, but that formula is too complicated for me.

Honors, AP, PU course

89.5-100 - A - 5.0
79.5-89.4 - B - 4.0
69.5-79.4 - C - 3.0
59.5-69.4 - D - 2.0
Rest - F - 1.0

Normal

89.5-100 - A - 4.0
79.5-89.4 - B - 3.0
69.5-79.4 - C - 2.0
59.5-69.4 - D - 1.0
Rest - F - 0.0

All normal classes are out of 4, all AP and Honors classes are out of 5.2 (a 1.3 multiplier). I’m not entirely sure what each actual grade is.

all honors/ap classes get an additional point, so 5.0 scale. but you really can’t get a 5.0, because there are requirements that prevent people from doing so. and some classes don’t average at all, and some are half, depending on if they’re half credit classes… my school has a messed up system.

Wow! Sounds very complicated…

Umm regular classes are up to 100. AP classes add 10 points to your overall score, so 110 max for AP. We average semester averages. To find out on a 4.0 scale we divide by 25.

There are 7 classes, A = 4, B+ = 3.5, B = 3, C+ = 2.5, C = 2, D+ = 1.5, D = 1, F = 0. for AP classes, you add a 0.5 to the grade you got. So, a B+ in an AP class will be like an A in your weighted GPA. For honors classes, nothing. You add up all the values for your grades and divide by 7, and that’s your GPA. Btw, this is the grading scale:

94 - 100 = A
90 - 93 = B+
84 - 89 = B
80 - 83 = C+
74 - 79 = C
70 - 73 = D+
64 - 69 = D
anything below = F

I am in Fairfax, Va

County Grading Scale:
A 94% - 100%
B+ 90% - 93%
B 84% - 89%
C+ 80% - 83%
C 74% - 79%
D+ 70% - 73%
D 64% - 69%
F BELOW 64%

GPA:
A- 4.0
B+ - 3.5
B -3.0
C+ -2.5
C -2.0
D+ -1.5
D - 1.0
F - 0

Honors courses are not weighted. AP courses get .5 and Multivariable (along with some other college courses) get .25 points weighted onto your GPA.

Wow, that’s pretty tough.

94-100 is an A?

Here,

86 % + is an A.

@ powerbomb: I’m in Fairfax county too!

@Pulch: yea, many people complain about the fact that our county has a tough grading scale… But personally, I prefer that because then our reputation kinda goes up I guess.

@Stone Cutter: hahaha. can I ask which school??? I go to fairfax.

Each teacher is allowed to choose any grading scale he wishes; there is no particular numerical value that corresponds to a given grade for every class. However, the GPA is based on the system below, with 1.00 points being added for accelerated courses.

A: 4.00 (~94-100).
A-: 3.67 (~90-94).
B+: 3.33 (~87-90).
B: 3.00 (~84-87).
B-: 2.67 (~80-84).

Wow, I’m glad we don’t have to get a 94 for an A…
Ours is
A: 4.0 (90-100+)
B: 3.0 (80-89)
C: 2.0 (70-79)
D: 1.0 (60-69)
F: 0

No weighting for AP or Honors (too bad), just average them together for all classes. It’s kind of nice, though, because it makes people compete more individually and less with each other, since the best anyone can do is 4.0.

mines pretty much the same as sberlin’s…except our grading scale varies by class. most classes an a is a 93 not 90, though. and all teachers are required to use esis for grading but some are not able to use a computer so they screw all the grades up. our ap bio teacher ruined so many 4.0’s this year because she said esis didn’t round grades and that she couldn’t change it even though you obviously could.

Private international school in Singapore (UW system):

A+ = 4.4
A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.4
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.4
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.4
D = 1.0
D- = 0.7
F = 0.0

So I guess my UW GPA would then be out of 4.4 since that’s the highest you can get with unweighted. Grrr… this system really makes my 3.9 look bad. =[

On a lighter note, it is impossible for anyone at school to get a 100 UW since that would mean having all A+'s, so our valedictorian for this year had a (weighted, mind you) GPA of 4.38.

Classes are on a 100 scale. ( A:93-100, B:85-92, C:78-84 D:70-76, F:<70) and the 5 is added to honors and 8 is added to AP. We don’t really have a 4.0 scale.
