How is YOUR school's gpa calculated?

A=86-100
B=72-85
C+=69-71
C=60-68
C-=50-59
F=0-49

(No + or - for A or B.)

Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, CA. Boarding prep school.

A=4.0
A-=3.7
B+=3.3
B=3.0
etc.

Honors and APs get +.3

we don’t actually USE gpa, it’s more a matter of points out of 100… and even if extra credit puts you at a 107 or something, you still only get 100/100… highest average wins. (standing strong w/ a 99.45!)

HOLLA FFX COUNTY

A: 94-100 = 4
B+: 90-93 = 3.5
B: 84-89 = 3
C+: 80-83 = 2.5
C: 74-79 = 2
D+: 70-73 = 1.5
D: 64-69 = 1

we get a .5 added to your grade for an AP class.

wow, a lot of people from ffx county…

hahah ffx county is pretty good aside from lack of snow days and a tough grading scale.

A-90-100: 4.0
B-80-89: 3.0
C-71-79: 2.0
D-70: 1.0
F-<70: no credit

For AP,you get 10 pts added,but not on your transcript. Like if you got a B in an AP class,it’ll still say you have a B,but on the GPA scale,it counts as an A.

1-100%
We don’t do it out of 4 and we don’t weight classes…
Oh yeah and we don’t rank because we don’t want to hurt peoples’ feelings hahaha

school on long island, ny

intervals are as followed:
97-100 = a+
93-96 = a
89-92 = b+
85-88 = b
81-84 = b-
77-80 = c+
73-76 = c
69-72 = c-
65-68 = d

honors and ap are weighted 1.10
honors band and acc. math are 1.025
elective grades are deflated… count for .98

as for finding gpa… i dunno. it’s just on a 100 point scale…

valedictorian '08 obtained a 103.1 w gpa/sal a 103.08 (aw shucks)

UW, W, and regents (state tests) are displayed on transcript. no ranking because no one wants their feelings hurt.

GPA on a 4.0 scale, QPA (weighted GPA) where art/music/gym classes don’t count, honors is +0.5, and AP is +1.0.

I’m so surprised by the high standards these schools set out!
I mean like, 94 an A? Ohmygod, I’m pretty sure I would faint!

A = 4.0 = 89.5+
B = 3.0 = 79.5-89.4
C = 2.0 = 69.5-79.4
D = 1.0 = 59.5-69.4
E = 0.0 = lower than 59.4
+.5 for honors/ap classes.
no ranking system (as in no valis and salus), but the highest gpa is a 4.41. I have a 4.29 weighed GPA (not bad, considering that I would have had a 4.40 if I didn’t want to graduate early).
But yeah, I wouldn’t want to be stuck in fairfax. My gpa would have been so freakin’ low (around 3.8).

BUMP please!

A=94% and above = 4.0
A-=90% to 94% =3.7? I don’t know for certain
B+=97% to 90%
B=94% to 97%
etc

There’s weighted and unweighted, but weighted is used only for class rank and it’s through “challenge pts.” Valedictorian and Salutatorian are calculated through unweighted only, though.

boy o boy. An A in my school is 80%. Im so glad I dont have to get a 97 for an A

Dr. Science, which state do you live in?
