I indeed noticed on the admissions counselor thread by the lovely Grace (what, flattery? me? nooooo) a suggestion of a 500 word guideline…

I understand that adcom doesn’t have the time to carefully read every essay but holy shizz 500 words is a short ride.

I’m still in the process of procrastinating I mean trying to let the words flow through my mind and into the word doc so I can’t contribute to what I’m shamelessly asking of you…maybe some day soon.

as long as it needs to be. no more, no less.

fwiw, my main essay was around 1700, and I think I had at least one supplement around 700. But there was nary a word wasted between them, and the admissions folks seemed to like them well enough.

haha thanks for that. yes, i’m hoping for the “fwiw” part esque replies.

IB, a side question: if you remember, how did you set your essay up? anecdote and analyzing? straight out pouring stream of consciousness? past tense then present? etc…

I finished a draft of mine today. Shaped up to be about 527 words.

Sarquois, which one did you choose? i’m going for the reverse psychology one

I did the “Between living and dreaming” prompt.
