How long can one access a filed FAFSA?

<p>We filed our FAFSA last night and sent it to ten of our fourteen schools. Several of the remaining schools only require the FAFSA if they accept the student and the student decides to enroll. Can I wait until May to send the FAFSA to them if my son chooses one of these schools, or will my current FAFSA be purged from the system by then? I thought I read somewhere that FAFSAs can only be accessed for 45 days, but of course I can't find the info again. </p>

<p>The FAFSA can be accessed by the student until the end of September of the year it covers (so for 11-12, it’s accessible until September 2012).</p>
