How long did it take you to work through Erica Meltzer's Ultimate Grammar Guide?

Hi I’ve been studying with Erica Meltzer’s Ultimate Grammar Guide for about 3 weeks now and am only on section 10 as a result of trying to deeply understand the grammar rules. How long did it take you to work through all the sections? Am i going to slow?

@Ennnnn It took me 1 month. Well, I had 1 month to prepare for everything. So, if I had studied only Erica’s book, it would’ve taken me about 2 weeks (full days, no school: during summer holidays).

Don’t only try to understand. DO THE WORK! Do all the exercises on the back of the chapters. I did each every question in that book. Maybe you are not familiar with grammar that’s why it’s taking you long. It should not take that long. Or maybe you are counting in school days. If you are going to school AND working through this book, it may take about 4 weeks.

It took me about a day; it was really only the error-identification section I had problems with.I knew most of the rules aside from the punctuation rules before reading the book. Once I started using her methods–looking at each option and figuring out if it is wrong or not–then my score drastically increased.

I’m currently using the book and I don’t understand a few sections… but I mark them down to remember to go back and re-read the section to grasp an understanding that I will be confident about.

It’s definitely possible to finish the book in less than a month if you focused on it for at least 30 minutes a day, but don’t rush through things because you want to process and remember everything you have reviewed!

Great book and tips I would never have thought of :(|)

It will take about 3 weeks, all you need is a better planning, no procrastination and patience. Divide the sections wisely and do bit by-bit-each day.
