How long does a "New Discussion" marked for moderation usually take to be approved?

(1) How long does a “New Discussion” marked for moderation usually take to be approved?

(2) What are some of the typical reasons for a new member’s New Discussions to be marked for moderation?

Thanks!

Vince

**MODERATOR’S NOTE:/b It depends. Sometimes they are approved within minutes. Sometimes it takes longer. That said, assume that any post flagged for approval will not be approved, because 99%+ of such posts are rejected for ToS Violation.

(2) In almost all instances, the post contains an link that is not allowed, a word (usually profanity) that is not allowed, or an acronym that if spelled out would have a prohibited word.

If the post is saved as a draft, you can PM it to yourself. The problem will show up as asterisks in the PM. If you edit out the problem part, it should post normally.

I am a NEW MEMBER and cannot seem to PM anyone including myself???

The following is from pages 29 and 30 of 2019–20 Completing the FAFSA® Form.

When following the conventions used in this document, the last three lines direct you to where the data to be entered can be found.

However, in the case of Question 44d, the data to be entered is not the AGI as suggested below.

Can someone tell me where on Form 1040 and Form 1040A I can find the entry for Question 44d?

Thanks!

Question 44d: How much taxable college grant or scholarship aid did you [presumably, the student] report to the IRS as income?

Enter the amount of any college grant and scholarship aid that you presumably, the student reported as income to the IRS for 2017 (See IRS Publication 970 “Tax Benefits for Education”).

Types of college grants and scholarships, that may have been reported to the IRS include:
• Grants
• Scholarships
• Waivers/Remissions
• Fellowships/Assistantships (grant or scholarship portions)
• AmeriCorps education awards
• AmeriCorps living allowances (but not insurance or child care payments)
• AmeriCorps interest accrual payments (for student loan interest that accrued during your AmeriCorps term of service)

Round to the nearest dollar and do not include commas or decimal points.

[The information following was extracted from the table for Question 44d on page 30.]

If you filed IRS Form 1040; AGI is on line 37
If you filed IRS Form 1040A; AGI is on line 21
If you filed IRS Form 1040EZ; AGI is on line 4

I just posted the exact same message from last night that was flagged for moderation. (I had saved it in a TXT as I do with any long message I send online just in case I time-out.)

You may have tried to post another thread too quickly after the previous one. We ask that you combine questions in one thread instead of creating separate threads for each question. If everyone did that, the website would be very cluttered. I have merged your threads - you can add questions to the one thread.

OK. Thanks!
