How long does it take to get 700+ writing?

I am helping my nephew with preparing for the SAT. The problem is that he’s rather weak at English, so I’ll have to come up with a comprehensive plan. Therefore, I’d truly appreciate if you could tell me about yourself in these 3 aspects:</p>

<li>Are you a native speaker or international?</li>
<li>How long does it take you to get a 700+ in writing?</li>
<li>Do you study grammar in any book?</li>
<li>Do you prepare examples for the SAT essay? If you do, how many?</li>

<p>The best study guide for Writing/Grammar is Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar by Erica Meltzer.

Regarding the essay, my go to is Pwnthesat Essay guide book. When you buy the book and become a member you can submit your practice essays and he will grade it for free. He is graduate of Brown and got 2400 on SAT.</p>

<p>Many tutors say, if you approach the Writing question section like Math, you will be fine. ie. rules, formulas, etc.</p>
