mine is about 3 pages long in a size 10 font… is this too much?

Since its a resume, it shouldn’t be that long.

Resume should be 1 page.

But then again, it depends on what you wrote.

If your activities are all too diverse and over the list, then the resume is not a good thing.

PM me your resume if you want to and I can help you take a look.

mine was 4 pages with size 10 font

1 page, 12 font.

1 page , 10 font:
Experience, high school and activities

Mine was 1 page, 11 font. But I only put important things I did that I didn’t mention before on my app since on my transcript, my school lists everything that I’ve been a part of since freshmen year

so on the resume, we’re not supposed to mention what we’ve already mentioned on the commonapp?

no, you can mention whatever you want. but I wasn’t going to waste space on my resume for things that would’ve been on my app 3 times. (i really wanted it to be only 1 page) so i just mentioned things that were important/diverse

two pages; size 12 font

Is a resume necessary?

I actually heard in the info session that they discourage submission of resumes, which is why I didn’t include mine…but idk.

mine was 2.5 pages, size 12 font. and it was just extracurriculars

mine is one full page size 10, though it was only about my art experience/awards/other related things to go with my supplement. the rest of my ECs fit in the commonapp.

is it recommended to talk about your experience/feelings/stuff like that on your activities or just list them more in-depth than the common app allows?

dlbecker: I understand your response, but note above, eatingfood sent in a 4 page ‘resume’ and was admitted to Yale. I think there is no one firm answer to the question of how long a resume needs to be.

I honestly could not care what Yale thinks. Are they the authority figures of what a resume should look like? If you talk to any competent career center adviser (and I have spoke to many), they say that a college student’s resume should not be any longer than a page. A person who got accepted to Yale that had a 4 paged resume is pretty damn hilarious. If that person got into Yale, I should be able to with my college GPA of 3.77 and a 26 on my ACT.

The merit of a resume should never be on length, but on vocab control and the use of action words to describe what you have done.

Also college career counselor > than Yale admissions.

^wow you’re pretty arrogant for someone with those stats lmao
this isn’t a resume for a job, it’s a college application. and i think a resume for this purpose should be as long as need be, since the goal is not to show how good you are at a job, but what kind of person you are

Mine was 3 pages total but the last page was my music resume for my arts supplement that I couldn’t attach separately as another document. So technically it was 2 pages with 11 size font because I added explanations for a lot of things. Oh well.

Didn’t even submit a resume… ya’ll making me feel worried lol.
